Hi there

I just got myself an airgun from capital today
as my old one was blocked

i have the essential nails home learn airbrush kit
have had it 12 months used it a couple of times
but lost interest as my designs kept craking and were more hassle then they were worth
basically id just opened the salon too and didnt have the time

but now i feel i want to do some french designs
and also airbrush when the growth line shows on french tips.

does anyone put gel over there airbrush designs ? if so how ?
i currently use the ibd gel system.

does it matter if i use other base coats an top coats ?
or do i have to stick to eseential nails products

any other tips for a beginner would be much appreciated
it cost me a lot of money in the beginning an ive just paid out £70
for a new gun today so dying to get stuck in

look forward to your replies

many thanks

so you didn't try to clean out the blocked one....

i use either lightbox gel top coat (nail order) or Perma Gloss (NSI). both can go over the top of airbrushed designs and cured under a uv light. I find the lightbox gel easier to use - comes in a nail varnish type bottle with a brush in the lid. the perma gloss needs a gel brush and comes in a pot and you use with a prima and is much thicker than the lightbox. both are only removed by buffing and stay really glossy. the other top coats i use are Out the Door which is fab and dries really quickly but is removed with nail polish remover.

i did try an clean it yes
but also there was a problem with the catch that you pull back
it wouldnt just release air when i wanted it too
it would only release the paint
so because im so eager to do this airbrushing i just went out an bought a new gun
as i had £40 credit note at capital.

i use ultra seal which is ibd products like gel in a bottle
which is used to seal in nail art etc
i wonder if i could use this over the top of air brush designs.

thing is do you all use laquers like they advise you to at essential nails ?
you know lastly at the end ?
or should i do airbrush design then apply ultra seal an cure for 1 min as normally would do ?

maybe i should have a go tomorrow
on myself if i get time

would love to hear as much tips as poss
