do these hand gels effect nail enhancements?
and is it a good idea to get into the habit of using one (at the moment i work in a jewellers so come into contact with yucky watch backs!

(now everyone take off your watch and check how grubby the back is! there are alot of people with very expensive watches who seem too posh to wash!)

i used to use hand gel but not sure what it will do to my nails (i know id need to moisturise more often)

I mainly use Bio Sculpture gel, which is a very soft gel and have a lot of clients who are nurses and they use the bacterial gel from the Hospital a few times a day and they have no problems... so I'd invest in some if I were you

And yes... I've just looked at the back of my watch.. yuk!!!

It depends on which hand gel sanitizer you use. Some of these gels are very drying to the skin and therefore also to enhancements .. on the other hand, professional ones that are made for use with enhancements contain softeners which keep the skin soft and moisturised no matter how many times you use them; CND Cool Blue is one of these (Welcome - Sweet Squared) and so it Mundo Hand Gel (Disinfectants & hygiene products to prevent spread of disease. - mundo).

I use the mundo one on myself and clients. Its nice, smells ok too!!

I dont wear a watch so no yuk from me!! :green:

As Gigi says there are various products out there and some are clearly better than others. With watches being worn so close to hands - and knowing how unhygienic hands can be - make sure you get something that is more than just bactericidal. Suggest you get one that is viricidal and fungicidal too.

Sorry - my watch back is spotless - I scrub it regularly with Mundo Sanitizing Hand Wash!

I too would recommend Scrubfresh or mundo, both wonderful products.:)

nigel which product exactly would you recommend?

there are def some fungal type nasties on alot of peoples watches! (they are providing lovely warm damp conditions for it!) ew i had some nasty rings in for repair too today! diamonds attract grease and so can get quite yucky behind the settings!
