Crooner Rod Stewart has become a father for the seventh time after his fiancee Penny Lancaster gave birth to a baby boy.The couple's first child was born early on Sunday morning at a London hospital, weighing in at a healthy 7lbs 7oz.
Singer Stewart, 60, paid tribute to Penny and said he cannot take his eyes off the latest addition to his family, who has yet to be named.
The pair, who have been together for nearly six years, are back at their home in Epping, Essex, with the new baby.
In a statement, Stewart said: "Both Penny and our baby son are gorgeous, healthy and doing well."
"I am so very proud of my girl Pen for the commitment, courage and strength she showed throughout."
"We are celebrating every moment with our beautiful boy, we just can't take our eyes off of him," Stewart said.
Penny, 34, described the birth "was the most empowering and spiritual experience of my life".
"It means so much to Rod and I that we were able to keep to our birthing plan and have our baby naturally," she said.
The couple are expected to marry in the near future following Stewart's proposal at the top of the Eiffel Tower back in March.
