Which one would be best? It is mainly for waxing tools (scissors, tweezers) and I would also use it for my metal manicure tools.

Thanks

Have you looked at the Mundo range. It is excellent for all forms of salon sanitation

mundo

I use barbicide for my tools.

I used to do waxing but ended up changing to another unit, but I used to sterilize my tweezers in barbicide and my manicure tools. HTHs

barbicide is good it's been used for years but have you looked at the mundo range

Thanks ladies. Can I ask, does surgical spirit do the same job or is it better to get one of the specialist systems (meaning Mundo or Barbicide!) x x

We used to get told to sterilize tools in Barbicide and clean wax pots with surgical spirit, but I am going off what college told us x

I use Barbicide for all my tools. I think there are perhaps 2 problems with using surgical spirit instead,
1. The smell!!!
2. It carries a risk of causing rust whereas Barbicide and Mundo products have rust inhibitors.

hi, i would def go with barbicide xx

same here ukred i can't stand SS now

Okey dokey, Barbicide it is then!:green:

Yep! Definetly(sp?) Barbicide!!!

S/Spirits does kill some nasties, but not all - and it doesn't come with instructions as to how long you need to leave your tools in contact with it in order for it to be effective.

Mundo instrument & tool disinfectants are modern formulations - easy to use, quick to use, and unlike most other products, you don't have to change the solution daily - making it better for the environment, more cost effective and more time efficient. And it's produced to medical standards.

Mundo is also THE ONLY hygiene system recommended by Safe Salons (safesalons.co.uk)

It would be Mundo for me.
All the better now that they have specicfic packs of products for beauty therapists, nail technicians and Spa's.

Surgical spirit is a sanitizer, barbicide/mundo is a sterilizer if I have that correct in my head! xx

Mundo Instrument & Tool Disinfectants (both the Rapid and Concentrated) are medical grade disinfectants designed specifically for instruments & tools. There are other specific products in the range for disinfecting files, surfaces, foot spas, floors, hands, etc. etc.

Barbicide is a disinfectant.

You sterilize with an autoclave - which uses pressure and heat.

Well seeing as I've just had an absolute screw up on my order, I now have a little more time to look into different systems! Thanks for all the advice x x x

On my hairdressing course we have had it drummed into us NEVER to put scissors in barbicide or any other chemical. Yet at the same college, in the beauty rooms, the scissors there are in barbicide! Can anyone explain the reasons behind this?
