Hiya

I need to buy in some professional nail enamels but really don't know what to get for French. I don't want to buy a combination then find they don't look great together.

Does anyone have any pics showing your favourite french polish enamels?

Thanks.

I like creatives cream puff with romantique over the top it's a lovely pink and looks beautiful on tanned toes and fingers.

I would also lile to know everyones opinion on this.

I like to use Creatives creme puff with moonlight and roses over the top,
it gives a lovely pink shimmer hth

at the moment opi alpine snow with passion, (i think) but I am looking for alternatives so great timing with the thread, lol

i like creatives cream puff, with either negligee, beau or moonlight n roses over the top... there all ded nice

opi Alpine snow for the white...

and there's a new soft collection so there are a lot of combination...
I like it a lot with a thiiiiiiiiiin layer of Curry from the India collection, or another thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin layer of the DS's the silvers, etc. or Bubble Bath for a classical look.

Thanks for the input guys.

I happen to have a creative negligee so creme puff seams to be a favourite so will get that one for now.

ooooh you're all so helpful! :)

I have no pics but right now, I'm in love with Essie's Marshmallow (thanks, Weezie) and Essie's Cherry Pop.

I do a base coat with CND's Stickey, a coat of Cherry Pop, the white tip with Marshmallow and CND's Speedey top coat. I LOVE the look of it!

You can also go to Essie's website for different French combinations. You must register first, tho. HTH! :)

I didnt like Creme puff, it was far too tipp-ex white for me. I've now got CND Bisou de Lulu which is a soft white. It goes on really nicely, much smoother than cremepuff in my opinion, and I think its a nicer finish, a bit more classy looking.

for the base colour I use moonlight and roses or Negligee depending on what the customer prefers, I find that negligee works better for covering any imperfections in the natural nail.

Also, am I the only one that applies the full nail colour before the white?? I do one coat of the base colour (2 if its negligee to cover imperfections), then paint the tips, then topcoat.

Also, the new CND colour, Retro White, is a nice white. Its a "strong" white if you can call it that (as opposed to a soft white) and it goes on much nicer than Creme Puff.

I'm not a fan on Creme puff, can you tell?

Is the Bisou de Lulu a cramy white or just a softer white-white, iykwim? I think I must be very hard to please as some whites seem too tipexy, and others not a true white! Im a fussy moo, i know, lol.

Bisou is definitely a white as opposed to an off white, its just a softer finish. You cant tell the difference in colour at all in the bottle, it looks tippex white, but paint it on the tip and its a nice soft white, much nicer than the tippex look in my opinion

For an off white tip I use Negligee on the tip, if you pair this up with Pucker up on the full nail I believe its called an american manicure. Its a nice natural look.

Ah thank you michelle, xx

I've been playing with my colour combinations again lately....and the order in which I put the layers on....I like to occasionally, just to see if I find something new I like!

Funnily enough, I've decided I like Cream Puff underneath, but not on top, and prefer a softer white if its going to be over the colour. Just thought that it may be down to the order in which we put them on!

I use Jessica's sweet breath underneath ~ 1 coat normally but 2 if the nail has many imperfections, and wedding gown as the white. If I want a stronger white I will put 2 thin coats of the wedding gown.

Does anyone else use Jessica products? xx
