I need to get a new insurance policy but not to sure which one is best!

I was looking at salon gold who quoted me £37.80 annual premium for freelance nail technician.

Does anyone have a company they would recommened?

Also if I do get a beauty room, what insurance will I need?

:irked:

Do you mean a beauty room in your house or in a shop?
Salon Gold cover you for both, working in a salon at home and mobile at no extra cost.
In my opinion they are the best. I haven't found a company to match them.

well to be fair...BABTAC do that too - you can work anywhere almost excluding USA and Canada (as long as you are based in the UK) , home, salon, mobile - makes no difference

Hi, I am with BABTAC also and would highly recommend them xx

I looked into BABTAC and the costs were mounting up.
Could you tell me how much this type of cover would be? xxx

Freelance nailtech - £48.50 - BUT, apply through the website for a pack and you will get a £10 voucher off, so £38.50 :) which covers you as I said to work anywhere in the UK (and most locations abroad)

Brillant thank you!

I have order my application form from the website now!

How long does it roughly take as I really need to be insured by next friday!

:Grope:

only a couple of days - we send the requests out daily now - I will look out for you :)

Hi There….sorry to interrupt on your conversation, however feel the need to advise you about ABT (Associated beauty Therapists). With ABT, not only do you get exceptional insurance cover (through AXA) and membership benefits, you also get a year’s free subscription to Scratch Magazine! Our annual price is only £40.50 and with discount code DM0001 you get 10% of online! Check our website at Associated Beauty Therapists . We will also be at Beauty UK at the NEC this weekend should you like to have a chat! Thanks, Dave.

I use salon gold to cover me for everything
public liability
salon, stock, employers liability etc,
the list could go on but i wont bore you,
they are good and very reasonable if you have lots to cover.

I have just had an independent insurance company on the phone wanting to give me a quote and as i was not at work i let them,
when i said i did spray tanning they asked if i make the clients wear goggles
when i picked my self up off the floor from laughing i said no they do not wear goggles,
they refused to insure me unless they wore goggles
can you imagine the spray tan result if they wore goggles :lol::lol:

im sticking with salon gold,
the guild of beauty
babtac
abt
are all reputable companies that understand our needs as therapists so i would give independent companies a wide berth after today's phone conversation.

That's very true - but BABTAC's insurance is better and more comprehensive..isn't it? :)

Im with BABTAC - Great sevice - Thanks Guys :)

I am currently with Salon Gold and unfortunately I would not go with them again once my policy runs out - I have had reason to doubt that they would help me out in a crisis!

Next time for me is either Babtac or ABT.

Hi there Kelly,
I have sent you a PM about Scratch Magazine and I can assure you that all Nail technician members to ABT get free subscription to this title. This is not a special offer, it is part of the standard package and an ongoing benefit. We have offered this benefit for over a year now and the Scratch benefit is very well received by our members.
David – If you have queried this it is not with myself, although thank you for taking an interest. Finally, although I do not want to really comment on this, with reference to your quote:
“but BABTAC's insurance is better and more comprehensive..isn't it?”
Well….what a very silly comment to make!! As you know, as the former Director of Sales and Marketing at BABTAC and the person who originally set up the insurance policy I am fully aware of the policy wording you use and would argue the ABT policy is a more comprehensive wording and it is available on our website to view by all.
ABT has thousands and thousands of happy members as the benefits, price and insurance are all among the best available.
Please do not misunderstand me, ABT and BABTAC in my opinion are both very good choices and I would urge all therapists to be part of a specialist company rather than an independent.

Oh dear - I do apologise if I have touched a nerve David. I can assure you that I am more than happy for therapists to make up their own mind, I have faith in our product as I am sure you have in yours. I do apologise if I have upset you in any way.

I think the Scratch issue was valid - as the other therapist also highlighted, neither one of us could find reference to it on your site.

Good to touch base, and I hope we meet at some point.

No neve at all! It would be great to meet with you at some point, I am sure that there are many ways we can work together.
