Hi There..

I am currently studing too be nail tech and will be offering paraffin wax with the manicures...

I have looked at so many different heaters... The eggpot I think is quite new so not alot of info on them... But the Hive mini 500cc looks quite good (not sure how long that one takes to heat).... I know the big ones take for ever to heat so they would not be suitable... I used the Hive spray at college which were really good but not really cost effective as it takes about half a cartridge to get a decent coverage...

Would like to know anyones thoughts or advice for the mobile tech doing paraffin.

Thanks everyone

I'm just about to embark on a Paraffin wax course and I am also wondering the same thing. I am mobile too so any advice would be great.

Well this may go some way to helping out although more experienced techs on here may have better advice...

I bought a salon paraffin wax heater just before I finished my VTCT course. Cost me just under fifty pounds.. it wasn't huge so not a problem carrying it around so all good. Until it came to melting the paraffin wax up... it took FOREVER!!!

I bought a small hive one that is for paraffin wax as well as other waxes and has a temperature control on it so that you don't over heat it. It's great because it's got a removable inner container that you can get little lids on so you can have different waxes, tea tree etc. It also has a little plastic lid on the top that fastens (my other one didn't fasten) and it's very compact so very very easy to carry about with you. I love it.. think it cost less than the first one I got but has a guarantee with it. Think it was from Sallys. :)

Just had a look it's the Hive mini waxer 500cc.... it's perfect IMO :)

Thank you so u much for the info. The help and advice on this forum has helped me so much it's great to get advice from Techs who have been there and done it.

thankyou very much for your advice I was looking at the mini hive too and its good to know it does the job... Thanks once again:Grope:
