I have gone on the tutorial part of the forums, but dont know how to search within the tutorials :o:o

Anyway, I need a walk through, preferably a video or with pictures (so it soaks into my brain easier lol) of fibreglass/silk wrap, blending the tips. I know the general idea how to do it, but I can't grasp it fully. My tips sometimes looks good after blending, but others look so rubbish and/or ping off, and I know its the way I am filing them.... Please help if you can..!

Also, for a Nail art assessment I have to do 'Blending', I was just wondering if anyone knows how to do it. I have been told its dropping 2 different colour blobs of nail enamel on the nail and mixing them together, but I thought that was Marbling.... also, how do you do it so it doesn't take like five days to dry?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance xx

I'd check your tip fit if you are having problems with them popping off when you are blending, it might not be your filing it might be that they weren't the right size in the first place, also try a 'gel' type adhesive as this can help to fill any gaps (on the surface of the nat nail)

as for your nail art question, I think you were right in the first place, that does sound like marbling to me

for my nailart assesment, the marbling as you stated 2 colours and swirl together,,as for blending, i think polish is too thick to do it so Im using acylic paint and putting 2 or 3 drop down side of nail then use a fan brush to sweep across,,, hope this is helpful? :)
another gorgeous way to do marbling is to use airbrush nail paints, ive got some gorgeous results from this method

Hey Doll,

If you run through you way of blending perhaps someone can tell you what you are doing wrong, it could be a number of things, ill fitting tips, too much or too little adhesive, over filing, filing in the wrong places. Have you been thought to blend with or with out a blender? All these will effect the end results and appearance.

I have been told take the natural shine off and put a layer of resin on and activate then fill the tip 'well' with resin and put it on the nail at a 45 degree angle to avoid air bubbles.

I file the tip in trying to keep away from the natural nail and to the edge of the tip.. but I have been shown how to hold my file but can't seem to do it properly

Tracey - I never thought of using a fan brush, I think I will try it.

that seems right to me - but to make it abit quicker, try pre-blending the tip first, it makes less work for you when trying to blend it from scratch, while its already adhered to the nailplate. the only way i could try to help with holding your file, is - hold it flat to the nail - so that it looks like its balancing on the nail ( hope that made sense) then use the full length of your file too, this also cuts down on elbow grease..... then go in at the side of the tip, if im using tips, once im nearly there, i switch over to a less abrasive file, (i use an outblack from cnd)

hope that helps flower
