Just so you know I do not do gel - so forgive my ignorance!!

If you can't use gel is there a product which will do the job instead?

I like to know this too, i have just started on Brisa, and have seen a tread on mixing gel and polish here on the geek, so i like to know also if it whould work the way that you descripe also

I havent tried this myself but I have been told by some of the other geeks that the varnish will crack underneath...

Think there have been several threads about this...

i know its not recommended so i have only done this on my own nails and not any clients but i have tried applying nsi finish clear, perma gloss and glaze n go and they all seemed to be fine.xx

I applied Brisa gloss over my nail enamel and it was fine, I had no cracking at all. I did it on a few clients ages ago (at their request) but since then havent done it, btw it was fine on their nails aswell!

xxx:hug:

so how quickly after applying the polish did you all use the finishing gloss?? Right after ore did you let it drie for a while??

You have to make sure the polish is dry and not applied thick, or you do get what looks like creasing or cracking.

I have done it, but don't do it anymore as i did find you could get problems. Its personal choice Hun.

I personally use my UV 30 top coat, which air dries and gives a nice gloss finish. It has plasticisors in it so it is better than ordinary top coat and gives a strong non chip coat. Makes polish last for ages.

Hi,

I use Glaze n Go over my polish and nail art to make it last while i am working. You have to make sure that the varnish and the nail art are perfectly dry first then apply and set. Hth.

Yep, you gotta make sure the enamel is dry, then apply the gloss, however, with problems that may occur doing this, Im not sure I would use it on a client!

The reason I do this now, is sometimes when I havent got time to do myself a set I'll paint my nails, and as you can imagine my hands are with remover and acetone all day (ish) so my enamel would look shoddy after one client! With the top gloss it lasts and lasts!

this is exactly what use to happen to me and it used to drive me mad,so thank god for the top gloss.xx

Does anybody use the CND Heat Dry ore UV Dry i know that you should use a special dial lamp for this products, we don´t have this lamp here in Denmark and i have been told that they would not cure in the Brisa UV lamp, anybody tryed this and due CND i the UK have this Lamps??

Charlotte

Heat dry can be used with a desk lamp, hth's

Heat Dry is fab stuff, I dry it under my Daylight Lamp and that seems to work just fine! Smells lush aswell!

So due you use the Heat Dry just like a normal top coat?? after applying i will have to hold the clients hand under a normal lamp for how long?? and can i use the uv lamp insted of the normal lamp??

You apply a slightly thicker layer than you would top coat and it has to be under a 60 watt bulb, so a UV Lamp would be no good!
hth's xx
