Could you tell me, I'm looking at some courses to do.

Some of the courses say I will get a certificate of attendance, what does that mean? just that I have attended rather than a Certificate of qualification?

For insurance will it count and mean I'm qualified to use these products just on a cert of attendance?

Just because you have attended a class does not make you competent or qualified

For the most part yes. Depends on the company offering you the certificate

Best thing to do is to check with the GUILD here on the site and ask if the course you are taking would be insurable through them.

With whom are you thinking of doing your training? And what course title?

Well I'm looking to do a conversion course,,but I don't want to cert to just say I attended, whats the point in that?

I know from being on here a little while your with cnd and as much as I would love to be apart of cnd and what it stands for, I'm not sure it's viable right now, only because I would need to be charging my clients more than £25 for a full set to make a profit and to be honest too many in my area are charging £25 and I know wouldn't pay no more!

But then again if I choose NSI it seems I have to go to Manchester which is miles away from me, where as cnd in Portsmouth is closer

So I'm not sure what to do...

What I do know is that I did the EN nails course and what a load of crap that is, no matter what people say on here, you can't learn jack this way , for gods sake you have to pay extra to learn maintenance :irked:

Anyway thats where I am right now :)

Speaking for CND products as I don't think you have done your costings correctly, your set costs would only be about 10-13% on your product costs per treatment. Still plentyof profit there in my opinion. And for the extra benefits of working with the top of the line products you would do well.

From looking at your profile and reading your thoughts on your EN course I would advise you also to check what a conversion course entails. If you feel you have learnt nothing from your EN course it might be better for you to do another foundation course with one of the top product distributors. It would be a great shame to book in and pay for a conversion only to realise that you need even more training? Training is expensive but if you choose it wisely it will pay for itself over and over. :)

In terms of insurance, you should check whether your insurance company recognises that course before booking it. The Guild accredits prvate courses, which we can then accept for insurance purposes. You can see the list of accredited courses by going to www.beautyguild.com and click on 'Training Directory'.
