hi, i have a lady who's nails i have been doing for approx 3 years. recently over the last couple of months, she has been losing the same two nails in her right hand b4 each 2 weekly appt!!!! she is right handed and uses a computer at work. i have been extra careful with prep and application! she is not on any medication or of ill health that we know of. She has l+P over white tips. i have not changed any product and am struggling to see what else we can do!!!!!:confused::confused: PLEASE ANY IDEAS GRATEFULLY RECIEVED. :irked:

Hi, The same thing has happened to me before, I use silk but the same client kept losing the same nail or had problems with it. It was on her right hand so we went through all the possibilities and it was the finger she used on a morning and night to scoop her face creams out of the pot and when she stopped the problem stopped, must of been something in the cream! It may be something she may be doing unknowingly, like been a little harder on those two nails or using them in the garden etc! If ya get what I mean!

Hope this helps and good luck with it xx

sounds as if shes doing something different.

Ive had this before, I noticed that these nails were flatter than the others, when i overlayed them I did them slightly thinner than the rest and hey presto shes kept them on!

thanks, i am seeing her on thurs evening, we shall have another chat. her nails are quite flat, that may be the issue! thanks again.

One thing you can count on is that she is doing something with those two fingers that she is not doing to the others!

In my experience, I have seen repeated problems on pinkie fingers (from the ladies who golf!! (Pressure in the glove because of the 'grip' on the clubs)

Thumbs (in this case each were smokers and flicking the lighter with the thumb always caused lifting at the side).

Index fingers (from gardeners who use their finger as a 'dibber').

I'm sure with a little gentle probing, you will find out what she is doing.

One potential problem for her now, could be that having stressed those nails out from repeated nail loss, nothing may want to stick well to them for a while as the base is so weakened. Keep them shorter than the rest.

Thanks Gigi, much appreciated. :)
