Hi Geeks

I got a new clients yesterday and went to do her nails last night and when i got there my client said that she didn't like the white powder for french as it is to bright and that she likes an off white and as natural as possible. The only other colour powder that i had was a natural powder by ez flow so i applied that to the tips and then she wanted pink on the rest of the nail. The client was happy with this and said that she liked them as they looked natural and thats how she likes them (must of liked them as she booked and infill and has recommended me to some of her friends that have called me today) but i just think that it looked a bit wishy washy, is there any one that does an off white powder that it real soft and natural looking or would i be able to mix one up, ie bit of white with natural. I am not sure as i have never mixed colours before and i am still new to the business (only been going since may).

hope this makes sense and any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks Fellow Geeks:)

Most companies do a soft white that looks quite natural,
which brand are you trained in?
someone else on here who uses the same brand will be able to tell you what is available, hth

You can also mix your own.

I use gels and most of the white gels are very bright. The way I do to make it look more natural and off-whitish is apply a layer of pink on top of the french (nailbed and edge).

i use Creative powders. How would i go about mixing my own

Thanks geeg, i will give it ago, you secreat is safe with me :wink2:

In my experience I've found that by putting a layer of pink over the white it gives a look that's not natural, it looks like pink over white :wink2:

The best way IMO is to make a custom mix, both with gel and also L+P :green:

I did a natural custom blend on myself over the weekend using CND powders. Pic and geegs recipe which was tweeked alittle are in my album under practice sets. xx

I guess that depends upon what product you use.

Do you pre-mix building/sculpting gels?

I use Brisa gel and have the opportunity to custom mix colours using the Bold colour gels :D

I do pre-mix the gel in advance (it's one phase gel) if it's a 'recipe' that is used often, otherwise it can easily be mixed during the appointment.

how do you mix gels or acrylics to make the white look more natural? i want to know the secret!!
