Hi, I have a client who wants twinkle toes but doesnt want them done with gel....she asked if you could do a simular thing using top coat or clear varnish and the glitter instead of the gel. She knows it wouldnt last as long but she doesnt seem to mind.

can I use an alternative to gel?

Yes, you can do it with regular polish, but it is more time consuming because the polish has to dry instead of being cured in a light. It is also a pain to get off with polish remover. But it can be done!

It can be done with regular polish. I wouldn't remove it with polish remover, I would buff it off.

I have done this, but if the lady is thinking the nails won't be so hard, she's wrong, the glitter makes them just as hard as gel does, it needs to be buffed of and all in all is a pain. I would show her the minx designs or better yet do her a set of Shellac and use an effect over the top, she will love them.

Hi

I do this with nail polish when I am being extremely lazy (only on myself) I polish the toes then sprinkle the glitter on to dry, dust off the excess glitter and top coat if necessary. It comes off fine with polish remover. Let the client know that it will not last as long as gel etc but I can get a few weeks out of mine and they look fine.

Hi
There is a much easier way of doing it!
I use a one base coat
One coat of colour to match Glittler colour
Then a glitter varnish such as Barry M
then Clear top coat!

Barry M - Glitter Nail Paint

or Nubar have just brought out a glitter collection

Sparkles Collection

Hope that helps
It should last a month if not more like a normal pedicure would!

Kind Regards
Carla
