just a quick question on cluster lashes...i find when im applying them they can sometimes cause some stinging to the eye, im just wondering if anyone else finds this a problem? i've just trained in semi perm lashes and dont have the same problem with them. Im wondering if im maybe applying too much glue but i only use a small bead on the base of the cluster lash
any help would be appreciated :)
Thanks!

Do you know where the stinging comes from? Could it be that the glue is actually touching the skin ie lid or could it be that the clusters are too close to the lid so they touch and nip the lid?
Single lashes are attached one extension to one natural lash which makes it very comfortable for the client, with cluster lashes you cant attach one to one so the risk of the cluster "poking" into the lid is higher and makes it more uncomfortable for the client, especially at night

it depends on the glue ....
Sometimes it's the rapid evaporation of the glue that causes fumes and the stinging.

Are you using the adhesive for your semi permanent lashes for the clusters ?
if so this is wrong, clusters should only ever be applied using the temporary adhesive made for the cluster lashes, hth

Hi its not just you! This happens to me too. I am also like you trained in semi permenant lashes and have never had any problems with stinging in the eyes, in fact have not had any problems with them at all! but sometimes when I do cluster lashes my clients say they get a stinging. it goes fairly quickly but I have often wondered why! I use the glue that comes with the cluster lashes so maybe it might be down to the different glue?????

Thanks for all your replies, no im not using the same glue as i use with the semi perm lashes. I use one for the cluster lashes, i also try and ensure they are not touching the clients eyelid.
the stinging is during application, i was thinking of using some of the under eye pads to see if that helps

I have been doing cluster lashes for years.
I ask the client to keep their eyes closed when applying as the vapour from the glue can make the eyes water. Worst case senario doing it this way is that occasionally a lash can stick to the lower lash and needs re-applied.

I ask them to keep eyes closed for around 1-2 mins and tell them to close them again if they are aware of the vapour.

This method works fine for me.
