ive been having a few problems with doing my smile lines using l&p and i think that part of my problem is my brush so i was going to buy a new one.i was thinking of getting the sculptor 6/large brush from cnd.do you think this is a good brush and would help with what i want to use it for.i know it wont solve all my problems but do you think this is the best choice or do you think i should get a different one to this and if so why?
thanks for any replies.xx

well i'm a creative gal - but i use an nsi oval 8 (that has a silver push on lid) - i bought it purely for the look:green: but i love it !!!
have you tried any other brushes tracey? what are you using now? is your brush square, flat, oval, too big or too small?
its hard to decide but i know loads of geeks will be rushing behind me to say how they love their sculptor

i did use an nsi brush when i was at college but since then i have been using one from my local sallys which has been fine up till now.my main problem with it is that the bristles dont go to a nice point even though its not that old.its either a #6 or #8 i cant remember now.thanks for your reply.x

I have CND's Pro Styler #8 and after watching the smile lines video at Creative Nail Design - CND - Professional Nail, Hand and Foot Beauty Products - Artificial Acrylic Nails and Brisa Gel., I realize the problem was ME. I'm now using the same brush but the results are MUCH better. Check out the videos...they've helped my technique quite a bit. HTH's! Good luck!:)

Ive just ordered a sculptor this morning as I wanted to try it out! I have been using the pro styler so i'll let you know how i get on with it!

I guess it depends on how you work with your brush. I use a Pro Styler, and like to use it flat; I make a narrow flat end to tuck my smile lines in, and a wider flat to apply my white beads to the free edge. Others like to roll their brushes into a point. I used a Sculptor in school, and it's pretty pointy, but small (perfect for noobs just learning how to pick up beads of the right consistancy. Or of course seasoned techs who just like to work with a small brush. :D). It's a size 6 brush; the Pro Styler is a size 8.

Now, if you want a nice, big brush with a good point on it, try the Ultra Sculptor. it's a size 10. :)

the brush i have been using is a size 8 so do you think the sculptor 6 would be to small?
is your brush the one thats got the green writing on it?
and what one out of the 3 that you mentioned do you think has the best point?
thanks

Ive been using an nsi brush for some time now and love it (her name is betty) and she is an nsi grand kolinsky N0 8. I like her cause she has a wooden handle and when its hot she doesnt slip in my hand. But i know i shall have to change one day its just getting another betty like her!!!.

just bumping this up as i still havent really got the answers to my questions.xx

It really is up to you to decide which brush is better for you. It is a personal thing.
I have been using the CND Ultra Sculptor and I find it brilliant! Most of my students prefer to work with the Pro Styler, since they find the Ultra Sculptor big, and the Sculptor rather small. They all are very pointy, but can be worked flat, as well...
Hope you'll find the one that suits you best!

i use the CND master sieries size 6,which i think of as being a medium brush.this is the brush i trained with so have just stuck with it,but imo it does everything i need it to and the flags lie really flat so its great for the side walls and also zone 3.hth xx
