Hi all, i hope someone can just give me a little advice please.
I'm looking at training to be a nail tech, it's something i've wanted to do for a very long time, i did NVQ 1&2 in hairdressing when i left school & then aimed to go ahead & do beauty but ended up having kids, mortgage & boring office job-blah blah. I've now been made redundant & as kids are now at school wanted to seriously get back to dreams of being a nail technician. I've been researching courses both college & private & feel that CND looks very promising so my questions are...

How much support do you get as they seem to be for 5 days or so and then practice on your own?
Would you recomend buying a hand trainer or just hiring during the course?
How many of the courses do you think you would need to complete before performing on paying customers?

Sorry it's a bit long winded but any advice would be much appreciated x

answer 1: They give 100% support and if after you have practiced they have skill building classes for you to take which are great and can focus on anything you want or any problems your having.

answer 2: I dont have a hand trainer but want one as sometimes i can be hard to find people to practice on ( in my case)

answer 3: You can perform on paying customers straight away, but it will take practice and maybe skill builder to build up your knowledge and experience and help on areas your struggling with.

I would suggest you use the rented nail trainer in class and then buy one at the end of the class if you feel it would be a good thing to have; personally I know that those that use them get on in the business faster than those who do not. CND sell the nail trainers (but with the CND logo instead of the EN logo which is pants but don't say I said so!!).

I would go with CND, ive been in the industry for 9 Years now and no one can compete with this there knowledge of products.
As for pratice, CND will set you up with the basis, it sounds like your very keen and will practice hard and if you ask me thats all you need. it took me 4 hours to do my first full set on my own and now i can compete a set in under an hour. Also check for online videos or intructions, look at all different companies ways so you can get the best knowledge.

Good Luck x

Hi there

There are plenty of nail trainers on ebay if you didn't want to pay for a new one. Lots of girls who have fininshed their training sell them on there.

I don't endorse buying products from ebay but something like a nail trainer
I see no harm in. There are even some with the Creative logo on to keep Geeg happy. :green:

You can buy spare nails etc so no probs there.

Hope this helps and good luck with your course!!

Best wishes
