Hi all, I'm halfway through my NVQ beauty & have started practicing waxing on friends & family at home I've got the satin smooth pearl soft wax & have had no problems really so far, however i'm now down to the bottom inch of wax & I'm concerned the consistancy seems to have changed, it appears more bubbly in the pot & has seemed to seperate on the skin, when i take it off it seems to be going really stringy too.

Is it possible for the wax to have been heated too high (it never is when I've applied it but it's turned down for 10 mins before i apply) the only other thing i can think of is I've started using a little oil on the skin - picked up tip from here (not visible just a tiny amount) & I've started using paper strips??

I know there can be problems with room temp but it's fairly standard where I've been waxing.

any help, advice would be great

I would recommend topping your wax up if you are down to the last inch!
Can u explain what u mean when u say its seperates on the skin? If you are finding that its doesn't spread smoothly, then it could be becaue you have a tiny bit too much oil on, just blot with a tissue and this should solve the problem.

I agree it's most likely too much oil on the skin hun, you defo only need the slightest bit. If you find this has happened just get a tissue and blot all over the leg and carry on.:) xx

thanks, for replies would that explain why it's going all stringy too?

I sometimes find that it can go stringy for 3 reasons, either you need to use a new wax strip as you are getting too much of a build up, you are applyimg the wax too thickly, or because room temperature is little too warm causing the wax to be extra stickey!
