I had 2 clients about 3 weeks ago, both had same pink Soak off gel.

They came back to me recently and I saw the pink gel on both of them has been turned white.

This never happened to any clients with any other colours before.

My question is what would you think the cause could be?

I will try it on a tip and leave it near a window for a week and see what happens.
If the colour changed again, I will contact the company, this might be a faulty batch.

Thank you.

I use Biosculpture and this has happened on some pinks sometimes but not on everyone. Apparently, with any soft gel, this can happen with pinks (I may be corrected on this).

It usually because of extremely strong sunlight.

Whenever a client has pink, I usually highlight the possibility that fading could happen - clients are ok so long as they know what to expect.

It does not happen with CND Shellac.

Which brand of coloured gels are you using...?

Christine is right, sometimes light coloured gels have a problem with fading in the UV light, whether it is from the sun or from a lamp.

But to fade from a pink to a white is rather extreme, maybe you should talk to your suppliers...?

Have you tried CND Shellac...? The colour pigment is excellent, no patchy, no colour fade, no yellowing.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I think I am not going to use this colour until I get a good UV cut top coat gel.
I don't like the ones I already have, as those are blue-ish.
I heard there is a clear one, I will try to search.

I am very interested in Shellac as well as Gelish.

Can we mix 2 different colours of Shellac together, or mix clear shellac with colour Shellac for nail art?
( May be I should ask on the shellac thread :D)

I recently had a lady who had an OPI axxium pink on and hers turned almost white but she is a cleaner and has her hand in chemicals alot with No gloves so this is another way of bleaching the colour out.

Shellac is not a gel and is a very different product.

No you can not mix the colours, but you can layer them to et different colours.

Yo can use Shellac for nail art and glitter toes etc but not mixing the colours. You do not need to anyway.
