Hi there

I have just finished my manicure part of nail tech course and start the enhancements in Jan. We have been told to get our kits which I have but have also been advised to get implement kit.

Now looking on NSI website (this is where we have been advised to purchase from) for just the
Cuticle Pusher (Stainless Steel)
Stainless steel pusher and Pterygium remover it is £15.95 ex vat which to me seems steep .

Could anyone suggest good ones that are possably cheaper. I also need to get the Plush Brush, Tip Cutters and perry tweezers is there any other implements i need. I have cuticle knife, nippers and brushes.

Thanks for your help much appreciated

The pusher that you have been advised to get is a good one and as that is the one that they have said you should get then they will be right,
if you are using the NSI system you may as well have the tools to go with it,
buying cheap tools means you buy twice or more so they cost more in the long run hth

I think £15.95 is about right for this type of tool, a good tool to remove non living tissue from the nail plate is essential, and if you get a good one you will never need to replace it.

What College are you attending?
Good luck with your course.

If you buy/use cheap products, you usually produce cheap nails ..... enough said.

It's up to you, there are so many cuticle pushers, but good suppliers usually have good products, I'm sure many may add valuable advice to this post.

thanks for your reply... thats been a great help thanks

Thanks sue I will give them a call. Thanks everyone for your help... Love this site

I can vouch for the NSI pusher.. it's excellent! I read a thread on here just before I got mine about someone who had bought a cheap one and the metal on the underside of the scoop bit was uneven and was actually scraping lines into the clients nail plate... very bad! I saw the tool kit from NSI on offer and it is great value.. they all come in the case too which is even better. I bought all mine separate and have no case.

Definitely get the kit. Plush brushes are so cheap I'd get a few so you can swap while sanitizing or incase you loose one. :)

I agree as above ... the NSI pusher is an invaluable piece of equipment.

Have a look here hun for details of the kit - £19.95 for 5 tools plus pouch, I would say that's definitely a bargain!! I have one of the cuticle pushers/pterygium removers - it's a really fab dual tool.

HTH.

I would suggest you get a pair of curved nail scissors too. They are really handy for lots of things, e.g. trimming the form to fit the client better.
