I applied Dashing Diva on my sister-in-law for the first time today. Wow, how easy and amazing does it look. She is seriously impressed!

Now please forgive me if I am asking obvious questions. I am fairly new to the world of nails so I get abit confused with all of the inter-changing people seem to do between systems!

Why would you use Shellac over Dashing Diva? is it purely to make it last longer? I'm assuming Shellac would last longer than Dashing Diva?

I am thinking that if someone wanted a really opaque pink with their bright white french then I would use Shellac only with no DD as applying an opaque pink Shellac over DD would make the white more pinky?

I have noticed that some people are using DD under Gel, would this be for clients who need gel for the strength and length that also gives perfect smile lines?

Could you use DD over L&P overlay also to give pefect smile lines?

You would use Shellac over the DD to enclose and encase it. Shellac lasts for 14-21 days only and then you would remove everything and re-apply -Shellac.

There are ways of doing it so that you can use Shellac opaque colours with DD.

You would probably but not necessarily use DD under the L&P to encase it. Look DD is a quick way of doing a French polish .. it is not a tip and has no strength. You use it where you would use paint! It's not very complicated really.

Thank you very much for the reply Geeg.

I am learning so many new things at the moment that it really helps me to clarify things in writing. Sorry if it seems like I am complicating things :o

Would you mind telling me which order of products you use for DD with Shellac and how you would use opaque shellac with DD?

Your help and advice is always very much appreciated x

I WOULD SAY JOIN THE SHELLAC lOVERS GROUP BY CLICKING ON 'GROUPS' above and then join. There are many things discussed there including DD and Shellac.

I am already a member and I have read numerous ways in which people are applying DD and Shellac. I wondered what was advised at The Event rather than trying all the different scenarios and seeing which works best but I am happy to use the good old fashioned 'Trial and Error' route

There really is not a right or wrong here; there are several different ways that all work depending on the final look you want to achieve.

OK Geeg, thank you. I will enjoy having a good play with DD and Shellac combinations x
