I had a client today that had almost like dirt under her nails. It took me about 15 mins to clean all of them. I am doing clear gel nails right now, but wondered even if you do colostill clear tips if you still clean their nails out.

I supply the client with a nail brush, Sensations shower gel and a basin and get then to clean their own nails. Following that the nail brush goes into disinfectant.

How dare a client arrive at an appointment with a professional with nails in that state? It's like going to a doctors appointment unwashed or the dentist with filthy teeth ... it shows a complete lack of respect.

I would say, "I'm sorry but I can't work on nails in this state (smile) would you mind going and giving them a good clean underneath?" Most would not come in like that again.

It also gives a good indication that they will not do aftercare or respect their nail enhancements either!! So "think on" as we say in Yorkshire. :D

I once had someone with half a packet of cheesey wotsits encrusted in and around her hands and nails. I would be so embarrassed if that were me but, no, she hadn't had time to do anything about it!

Indeed ... YUK! I know too much and I do not clean under clients nails.

My god, Doug Schoon gave a lecture about it once and if you knew you'd be sick even to think of it.

I'm feeling quite sick already without any help from Doug Schoon!!!!!!!! But it made me laugh and i have "thought on" about Geeg's other comments x
