Hi there peeps
Just a little bit of advice if you please.

Recently qualified in eyelash extensions with Lash Perfect, have been practising like mad with the kit supplied at the training and now feel ready to take on paying clients.

My question is with 10 different lengths, 4 different curls, 4 different thickness, Y lashes, Mink lashes, coloured lashes not to mention any retail products, do I really need to buy all of these to be in with a chance of doing well in this treatment.

Obviously, if I get lots of interest then I wouldn't mind the investment but with it being a tad unknown at the mo, I am reluctant to spend too much money.

Can anyone advise what sizes and curls they think I could get away with buying in the first instance?

Many thanks guys

Heather

Hi Heather! My favorite lashes are the B curls. The sizes that I use most are the 8, 9, 10 and 11MM. I also use C's in almost every set. Can you tell me what lashes you already have and then maybe I can give you better detail as to which thicknesses and sizes to start with. Also, what does the company that you trained with charge for a pot of lashes? The company I trained with charges $45 (I think that's about 28 pounds?) for a pot, but I purchase beautiful lashes from a couple places that charge $25 for a pot (1 gram).

Hi Jill
Thanks for the quick reply. I only have 3 pots are the mo which were part of the training kit so have just been using these which are all J curl and I think are 9mm fine, 10mm thick, and 11mm super thick. They are supplied by Lash Perfect and they charge about £30.00 per pot.
I think I would have alot of call for the C lashes as they seem to give a bit more curl but still look fairly natural.

I think if it were me, I would definitely get a B curl 7 or 8mm in the .15 thickness. I think it's important to get the inside corner lashes, and a 9mm is usually too long-it looks as if it just stops. I also don't care for C's on the inner corners-I only use j's or b's. I think if you want C's, I would start with 9mm-.20, since you already have 9mm fine. Then maybe 10 & 12mm-.15 or .20 diameter. But keep in mind, the C's are a little harder to attach to those straight lashes.

I would hold off on the .25 diameter for right now-they are also a little more difficult to attach and don't always hold as well.

When I set up my tray, I always have at least 6 different piles of lashes, usually more. I like to mix in different curls and thicknesses with each set, but I base it on the length and thickness of their natural lashes.

I hope this helps to get you started, but I think you will definitely want to add as many lengths, curls and thicknesses as you can, when you can.

Hi, we have found that C and J are most popular and I have to agree that 0.25 is not the most popular one.
I would suggest 0.15 and 0.20 the most popular thicknesses and 8mm, 10mm and maybe even 12mm length most wanted.
A lot of clients also dont know about the coloured lashes and whilst they always look funny in the tub they work an absolute treat, spread in the whole set and can make the eyes sparkle even more.

When you are starting off, start with a few lashes (the most common ones) and soon you are going to find out what goes with your customers.
Its also depending on area, whilst the semi permanent lashes are natural looking in general, in some areas they do like their lashes extra long and thick and exaggerated but it wont take long to find out what your customers want and as you probably know a tub of lashes will last you almost forever!

I was in the same dilema a little while ago:hug:
I am a tad sad thpugh in that I get soooo excited over a new pot of lashes, lol.
Minks were a great buy for me. They are lovely, glossy and black so have a lovely look. So easy to use as well. I got these in 8, 10, 12mm. I also got 6 + 7mm 0.20 j curls to use as a fattener between the longer lashes, and to use in inner corners. I have just bought some c curls, but find that they do not suit everyone.
Hope that helps xx

I use 8, 10 and 12mm J curls... I agree with Cabinkel, the C curls are not for everyone and depending on natural lash shape I found it more harder to apply the extensions.

Keep it simple until you get more confident to try different shapes and thickness.

Thanks for all you advice guys, I don't feel quite so daunted at the prospect now and feel ready to place my first order.

Cabinkel - I'm like you, so so sad!! I was waiting for a couple of orders yesterday and it felt like christmas, I was getting all excited and watching out for the delivery van!!!

Off to do my order now, see you all later xx
