Good evening to you all,

I guess this should be a blogg, but I just felt that I had to share this.

I have just received a telephone call from the daughter of my one of my elderly clients to say that she has sadly passed away yesturday.

She had celebrated her 100th birthday in April. Although she was bedbound, I would go every 2 weeks and give her a mini manicure, just to keep her nails trimmed and tidy. She always had a clear polish on her fingernails, but bright red on her toes, as this is what she had had all through her life, and her daughter wanted to keep everything normal for her.

I had been visiting her for over 18 months, and I shall miss her a lot as she was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met.

Sorry, but just needed to share this as I am sure there must be some techs out there that have felt saddened by the loss of a client.

I lost a client a couple of months ago and was very saddened by it, my lady had MS and I do miss her a lot. It is one of those things that we have to deal with in out line of work.

I think you should feel proud that you gave her something that made her happy

We have lost a few clients over the years and it never gets easier. I'm sorry for you're loss. But the good thing is WOW 100 years old, at least she had a long life and you were able to help her and make her feel good.

Try and concentrate on the good things and over time you will feel better xx

I lost my Edna a couple of years ago and was very sad. She had a mini manicure every 4 weeks and had her chin waxed. She always looked after her looks and she loved her trips out with her clubs. This is not an easy bit of our job but we bring pleasure to these ladies so we should be happy we did that for them and they enriched our lives in return. :)

You are right this should have been a blog .. blogs are for sharing too!
