Essential oils for room

I'm not an Aromatherapist, but my dad has bought my mum an essental oil diffuser for their wedding anniversary. Can anyone recommend any good 'starter' oils to put in it? I'm thinking Lavender as a startoff. I think around 3 others would be good, has anyone got any ideas? My mum is full of energy but needs to relax and chill a bit

A bit of geranium would be good as it's quite a grounding oil.
I also make sure I always have eucalyptus for when I'm feeling bunged up, and grapefruit is an excellent air cleaner. It removes smells well, but also bad energies.
