Hi

Feeling rather down today, as a client returned after having a eyebrow and eyelash tint? Patch test carried out using the brown tint. I used brown on her eyebrows and black on the lashes.

She came in today and showed me her eyes, which were quite red, was busy with another client at the time so asked if i could give her a call later. Spoke to her and she told me her eyes are slghtly weeping and she is upset as she is going on holiday tomorrow.

I feel really upset but just cant understand it, if it was a allergic reaction why didnt it show and if it was would it not have affected the eyebrows???

I have to say my eyes felt glassy & weepy for a few days after my eyelash tint, my patch test was fine too.

In most cases if you have done a patch test and the result is ok then it is unlikely that a client will react. It's not impossible though. We test behind the ear or in the crook of the arm as these areas are the most sensitive parts. They are not as sensitive as the eye though (but we cant test there).
It might be nothing to do with the tint and she could have something like conjunctivitus.
You shouldn't be upset and don't beat yourself up about it. You did everything correctly.
I would ask her to go and see her G.P as he may be able to prescribe something to her to take the irritation away xxx
