i have quite afew ladys who after i have done their nail enhancements (natural) want a polish on aswell.I dont charge any extra if they do but is anyone else? and if so how much?

No i don't charge extra, i used to do but found that people would go else where, where it was included in the price hth

I charge extra £5 for a polish over enhancements. My clients are ok with this. I dont know any salons in my area that offer this free of charge they all charge.

i can understand why some people charge as this is all taking up extra time and product but alot of my clients who have the 'natural' enhancements would never be without polish and i feel abit nervous of suddenly introducing an extra charge for this! any tips???

I charged xtral £3. they seem happy with it.

I charge £5 for polish over one colour enhancements.....brings it up to the same price as my french.....

I think is must depend on area then....if they wanted natural at a cheaper price than forever french they could go home and polish them themselves.....this is for a full set.

My rebalance prices are the same whether one colour or french which I really believe I have to change....but if they want me to paint them it's still £5 extra.

Here in Sweden it is very standard that it is included in the price of a natural overlay when they come back for a rebalance.
I do charge extra if they want a french polish though.

In this area polish is included in the price of a full set or rebalance.

I include enamel in the price. Like Lou said, in this area most people include enamel in the price so I couldnt justify charging more.

Having said that, even if everyone else did charge more for enamel I would still include it. If I offer enamel for free, the client is going "ooh, ahh" admiring the colour as its going on. That would be my cue to recommend it as a retail purchase and you could end up making £10 by selling a bottle of enamel rather than 3 or 4 pounds for a single application.

Just had an extra thought on this subject.

If I'm trying a new practice I always try and think how I'd see it as a consumer, and I think if I was getting my nails done, I would expect enamel to be included, in the same way that if I get my hair done I would expect them to include hair mousse and hairspray with the price. Just my opinion.

Yes I charge an extra £5 on top of the enhancement price. Also when it is a re-balance appointment, I still charge £5 on top of that price aswell!

I charge £5 which includes 1 base coat 2 coats of polish and a top coat. You could up the price of your enhancements to include polish if that would make it easier, I know its the same thing but clients sometimes except the increase easier this way. hth

I dont it is included in the base price i call it a stright polish anything else is a 5 dollar up charge

I think it probably depends on what other people do in your area. Where I live, a polish is always included in the price, so to charge extra for it would definitely go against the grain and would come as a surprise to clients.

To be honest, it only takes a few minutes to polish, what gets on my nerves are the clients who expect to sit there opposite me for twenty minutes while it dries! lol  I have to hint gently that someone else is expected shortly and steer them out sometimes! If I was in a salon it wouldn't matter but I work from home so the situation is different!

The way I deal with this is to say "you're welcome to sit in the waiting area for as long as you like until you feel confident that they're dry enough" - even though I always use some sort of speed dry top coat, its a nice way of telling them to shift!

I wish I had a waiting area in my house . . . maybe I'll get a bench put in the front garden
