Eyebrow Confusion

Hi ya Geeks

I have a couple of questions regarding eyebrow services:

I offer 2 eyebrow services: An eyebrow wax & An eyebrow Re-shape...If need be i do tweeze after waxing.

I use wax for both of these services but should i be doing the eyebrow tidy with tweezers????

Or should this be another service that goes with the tinting?

Also does anyone use Hive for eye brow tinting & perming?

I have just completed the course and have been advised not to do both on the same day, I know other manufaturers say its safe to do so with their products. (I would perm first if i were to do both on the same day).

I have e-mailed Hive to ask them but if anyone knows i would be grateful for the answer.

Any price guides fot the tint & perm would be gratefully recieved.

no never tint after removing hair hair follicles r still open if tint enter can cause pain and could cause an infection of some sort then clients will be coming back to u and possibly suing u.
for an eyebrow tidy usually with tweezers but as my hairs are so fine i tend to ask for a wax cos gets em all out n it's quicker.

I use wax whether I'm tidying or shaping, to be honest it's what you prefer, the method isn't important but the finished look is, so if you can get that with wax only then great, if not, use tweezers.

Always tint before waxing or tweezing. I tint and wax imediately afterwards, theres no need to wait any length of time.

Thuya products allow you to perm & tint on the same day, they are specifically made for this. You can purchase their products from Ellisons.

I meant perm & tint.....Not tint & wax, I am fully aware of the tint/tan/wax procedure.....

I was asking about perming then tinting...& asking if you offer a tweeze rather than wax for tidy.

I have my own accredited BROW DESIGN course and I teach everyone to wax the vellus and stray hairs, but you MUST perfect the shape with tweezers.

Always tint first. Good luck. xxx

Does anyone know if its ok to use hive for perm then tint at same appointment?

Only tweeze eyebrows if the client specifically asks for it. Waxing is the best way to shape or tidy eyebrows. Tweezers to refine the shape if / when necessary.

With regard to perming and tinting - what were you taught durng your training? And what does your insurance say?

For me a tidy or reshape should be judged by the time it will take not the technique used. :hug: e.g 5-10 mins is a tidy and any more is a reshape.

Here's what I do:-

'15 min Facelift'
Brow Tint and complete re-shape, using wax and tweezers

Brow Makeover
First time brow makeover (not tint)

Brow Maintenance
Follow visits to maintain the shape (tint extra)

I have always waxed and then tweezed after if necessary, i just wondered if any of you added a tweeze tidy as a seperate treatment.

Of course im going to check with my insurers before carrying out the service(s) ...

We were advised on the course not to do them on the same day however i have noticed some salons offering both, hence the checking with hive & i also knew that some manufacturers advise this to be safe.

I was merely asking if anyone knew if the hive products can be used on the same day..Not if the service in general can be carried out, i am aware of the reasoning behind not doing both on the same day.

I have had a reply from Hive ....i thought it may help anyone else who is interested x

We advise on our training days that 24hrs is left in between treatments as the lashes can become extremely dry after having both treatments together, however there are a lot of salons and colleges that now offer the treatment together provided the client buys either a collagen lotion or a lash balm to use as home care to the lashes which they apply daily to condition the lashes.

But I would still advise checking with insurer first.
