Hi

Bit of a random question - but worht a go!

I'm due to have my Fake Bake spray tan training on 23rd June in Eling, London. Is anybody else booked on this day????

Would like to hear your views on this training. Also, i have just bought the Iwata Silverjet spray tan machine. Any views on this too?

Thanks
xx

Hi Lucie-Jo,

I did my spray tan training at Fake Bake in Ealing and had a fantastic day. There were 5 of us on the course, we learned about Fake Bake products, a bit of theory, then the spray tanning began!

I left there feeling 100% confident (with no beauty industry background) and within a couple of weeks after practising on a few guinea pigs, I launched myself onto the paying public. I haven't looked back since!

One great thing I remember was that there was no hard-sell on the day so we weren't at all pressurised into placing orders there and then.

Oh, and just a few yards up the road from the training centre there's a hair & beauty suppliers who sell the BEST sticky feet in the world, with discount if you buy two boxes. Their disposable undies and mop caps are great prices too.

Good luck!

That's brilliant! Good to hear its worth it. I've already ordered my products and equipment - i couldn't wait!! How did you go about advertising? I'm not sure whether to advertise in the local paper, at work, or do a drop through people's doors! Got some flyers from Fake Bake, they look pretty good.

I am really looking forward to my training now!

I use the iwata silver jet and i LOVE it ! Its a very professional looking machine, it has barely any overspray and uses minimum amount of solution without any waste. Its also very compact and quiet.

Hiya, I've done all of that, with mixed results. For example, I advertised for 3 weeks in a paid-for local paper and only got 1 call, BUT from that call I've had many, many referrals and a couple of very regular clients so you could say that that was very successful.

I've delivered over 600 flyers to private homes, with NO response.

Now, about 9 months in, my two main sources of new business are word-of-mouth and my on-line free advertising. I'm just having a new website created for me now and I hope that'll bring in some more too.

Last week I was at a Ladies Indulgence Evening held to raise funds for a local school. I offered discounted spray tans and worked solidly, flat out and tanned 13 ladies - from that I've had a few bookings, and of course made a half decent amount on the night.

There are LOADS of advertising opportunities for you, a lot of which are free, just costing you your time.

Good luck xx

Oh and it's pronounced Poh-jiz ha ha ha
