HI Im wanting to do a course in spray tanning and was wondering what you guys thought about "Fake Bake" Cheers x

Fake Bake is fabulous, and so was their training. I did the training at their Ealing branch last September and had a great day; I left feeling 100% confident and ready to go even though I had no previous experience.

Although there was no hard sell on their products or equipment, I bought most of it from Fake Bake and still offer Fake Bake as my Number 1 spray tan, with Tantrick 5% alongside for the very fair-skinned.

I've now spray tanned well over 100 paying clients and still follow the training style I received at Fake Bake, along with a few very valuable hints and tips picked up from Salon Geek.

Book it now, you won't be disappointed! xx

ok lovely thankyou will bare that in mind xx

I use Sienna-x for my mobile clients but have to work with Fake Bake in the spa that i work in. I don't like it to be honest. It looks like you have been sprayed with mud.
The customer service is pants and you have to spend so much on opening an account with them, unless it has changed.
I have never been asked for it and a lot of clients in the spa are requesting Sienna -x or Tantrick.
xxx

I use Tantrick and always found it ok, my clients love it:lol: a few of my clients have commented that they like tantrick much better than fake bake because this leaves them 'orange'! but as I have never used it I don't really know.

Fake Bake definitely isn't orange in my experience. Their Original could be described as golden brown, and their Darker a slightly browner-golden-brown. I'm asked for as many Darker tans as Original.

I'm not sure what the rules are these days regarding account-opening, but I know there's free p&p with orders over £75, and my order last week arrived in under 24 hours xx

I LOVE Fake Bake!! You should defo go for their training i found it really good. xxx

Fake Bake gives the client a really lovely golden brown colour. There marketing is very strong and their winning loads of awards!!!

I use Fake Bake at work, and although it is nice and popular the colour guide is too dark and can be quite misleading. Also I don't think the range is that good with only original and dark. The dark is probably a 10% and just isn't dark enough for some clients. I personally use Sienna and Tantrick, although I am now coming to the end of Sienna as I think Tantrick has the most gorgeous looking colour that a lot of my mobile clients like.

Another major problem with Fake Bake is that the opening order is quite high, and the customer service is shoddy!!! Not to mention the fact that we have been trying to order dark for nearly 2 weeks and its still going to be another week before they get any in!!

I'd look around if I was you as there are plenty of other great spray tans on the market with a much larger range and fantastic customer service (especially tantrick who have been so helpful in mending my gun)!

I use Fake Bake but i buy it fron Sunquest as you don't need a minimum order.
I also use celebrity secrets.
I tend to find that a lot of the younger clients would rather have fake bake as it's a browner colour.
You need to test some and see what your customers like.
You may find that your customers really like it.
It's not a case of what anyone else uses, it's what works for you and what your customers like.
I offer 2 different solutions as my customers like different ones. Some like the natural look etc........
Get some samples and have a play about :)

Trying to get some more info on TanTrick training - can anyone help me as to where to get it from x

Its ok ive found it

I use Fake Bake Gold - the salon only manually applied tan and it's very good indeed.
No orange, no streakiness, great staying power.
It's no secret that their customer service has been rubbish in the past but I actually think it's getting better now. Next day delivery, and no bother with card payments anymore, so maybe someone's kicked some arse!
I'm happy to recommend the manually applied tan; can't comment on the spray tan version though.

Hi,

My opinion on fake bake,

customer service is pants

not enough colour choice with there only being orig and dark, I was sprayed with the dark and felt really ashamed walking back to the car as the colour was like someone in an earlier post said 'mud' the next day after I washed it off in the shower I was near enough my normal skin colour but patchy and slightly orange.

I use Sienna x and love it but I have to use fake bake at work.

but yes you do need to try lots of samples and settle on the one you love because you are the one that needs to believe in it to sell it.

Hi,

I honestly think Fake Bake's customer service has greatly improved recently.

Yes the colour guide with the Darker solution can be quite dark, but regarding your result being ".... patchy and slightly orange ..." this could be down to (a) whoever carried out your spray tan not applying it evenly, or your prep and (b) perhaps the Darker solution was not suitable to your skin tone? What I'm trying to say is that the solution may not be the only culprit with the description you've given.

I have several regular clients who are sprayed with Fake Bake Darker at least twice a month with not a hint of orange in sight, which I can safely say goes for the Fake Bake Original too. As I've gained confidence, I've also become assertive with those paler-skinned clients, practically banning them from having the Darker spray tan. As a compromise, I sometimes do a 50-50 mix for a few people.

Fake Bake are a multi-award-winning spray tan brand and I, for one, am very happy with the fabulous results my clients get.

I've had many brands of spray tan used on myself and I've had bad results (personally) with a couple of the popular brands championed on SalonGeek. It just goes to show that one man's meat is another man's poison and all that xx

yes your right everyone is different which is why I think it is important to try lots and try them on yourself also,

When I was first sprayed with fake bake dark I did think maybe the colour was too dark or I was oversprayed so I tried the orig but still the same outcome therapist sprayed correctly, plus I got quite an olivey skin tone I think this brand is not right for me but gaize you might love it, you never know.

Although looking back at your Q gaize I noticed you were talking about the training which I hear IS good, you can always choose your solution after training.

I love LA Tan, they have won number one solution two yrs running. There colours are spot on, really easy to apply and they have lots of offers on there products which is a big help in this climate. If you havent got a start up pack yet, there sill half price from when i got myne. A great bargin :)
