my mum has had her toenail removed and there is just a rinkley skin left, i tried to apply acrylic to it and it only lasted until she put her feet into slippers (1 day) is there anything i can do to help her?

enhancement products (gel/acrylic etc) will not stick to skin, they require a firm grip to thoroughly prepared nail plate (even a small amount)

The only possible solution would be to use a surgical grade adhesive (such as we use for tips) to apply a full plastic 'fake nail' to cover the skin - even so this would only last a few days as adhesive will eventually break down

Good luck...

It's funny there have been quite a few threads about doing false toenails lately ... summer must be coming.

As Alan says, anything you do will only be temporary but if you make a toenail for her and it comes off, then you can glue it back on again .. something like CND GelBond is perfect for the job because it 'squidges' into all areas under the nail that would tend to become air pockets if you were using a thin adhesive.

A well-made 'false' toenail can last for 4-5 days or longer. You can do a search on toenail and find quite a few post and things people have tried.

Great thank you for the help x
