Hi guys, i have just had a night mare day. Did a set of popits they are this particular ladies second set and they just had loads of bubbles at the cuticle, i think three out of the five i did had bubbles and then obviously they lift. I actually had to soak some off and then do them free hand, so ended up not making a penny after my time was took into consideration I have been to see geeg, and looked at the tutorials, i have even done a few sets that were just spot on, but i am finding that different clients have a different effect with regards to them. May be i am just doing them all wrong, but i press softly, do not over fill the popit, wait for it to rest. they just seem so hit and miss for me at the min and to sell these to clients who are paying with no garantee of air bubbles, i feel fed up
Then i have been playing with Minx, they are fabulous, but done a lady in her sixties tonight and some of her nails were bent in the middle so again it just went from bad to worse. She also had really large nail beds the number one did not fit her big toe, with a good five mill gap so had to cut more off to fill which is so faffy and time consuming. I did not charge her as i just did not like the finish. I have told her she would be better off with polish. maybe i am just not cut out to be a therapist after all, feel sh##t:|

Hi,

Dont give up! im only just learning but i am learning already that sometimes it goes well and some times not so well, i have confidence issues sometimes and when things go wrong i tend to give up on them but now i have started to do nails i am determined that i will stick it out!!! there are so many very talented people on here that can help with alot of things and others will just come with experience, stick it out if its what you want to do, it will all come good in the end.

Hope you will feel better

You are over reacting Jenny!

First of all you SHOULD overfill rather than under fill the PopIts. More is better. The reason you are getting bubbles at the eponychium is that you are squeezing all the product forward and there is none left to fill the cuticle area. Use more product.

As far as Minx go, I have said it before .. use only on regular shaped nails or you will be in trouble. Problem nail shapes cause ... problems. No different to papering an uneven wall ... the wall paper is not going to lie smoothly.

These problems are happening because you are trying to do things you really can't do. Stick with what you know works and don't try to do the things that will not give you a good result. You can't say yes to everyone especially when your intellect tells you the result is not going to be pleasing.

Thank u geeg will have anouther try later today, it is just so dis heartening sometimes and want to please my ladies so much, because then they will come back time and time againx

We all want to please our clients, but you have posted many times of how thrilled you have been with all the results with PopIts and Minx and then one hiccough and it's all ' a bag o' nails"??? Nonsense.

If you look at the nails you are thinking of doing and you see that it is going to be difficult before you start then don't offer the service.

As far as PopIts go ... just always put a little more in the form than you think you will need and you won't get the problem you got the last time.

Maybe you were rushing it .. maybe it was the last client of the day and you were tired, wanted to go home and took your eye off the ball. Whatever, it happens to all of us from time to time and it doesn't mean your whole world is going down the tube .... it just means you have disappointed yourself. So you forget it and pick yourself up and a new week starts tomorrow.
