Hi,

I have looked at previous threads and just wanted to ask a couple more questions about toenails.

I have a client whos lost all of both her big toes and wants them reconstructed. I have never done this before.

In geegs thread it says put solar oil on nail bed then sculpt nail from l&p, my question is will the sculpted nail then come away straight away and i then glue it back on with gelbond? Should I apply gelbond to the whole underside of the sculpted nail? And do I need to scrubfresh the nail bed before doing this? Sorry just want to get this right.

Thanks! :)

Should I apply gelbond to the whole underside of the sculpted nail? Just under the area that will sit on the nail bed, and sell the client a tube so she can refit it as and when needed.
And do I need to scrubfresh the nail bed before doing this? Yes give it a very good scrub.
Sorry just want to get this right. I'm sure you will do just fine, you were on the right track, just needed some reassurance xxx

Thanks! :)
Hope that helps you

Brilliant thank you so much!! xxx :) :)

I think I may have a fear of touching a nail bed with no nail on! Does it make you go weak or is it totally ok?

It's not juicy or sore but more wizened and dried up .. not icky .. the transformation is amazing.

I did this on my client last night and she was delighted with the results. She has been having her big toenails removed since she was 4 years old due to a deformality in the way her toe bones grew.

I did as Geeg said solar oil then apply remove buff and stick on with gelbond then I did a French Manicure and she was totally amazed at the results. First time ever she has actual toes nails now! She was delighted and so was I!

Thanks so much Geeg, brilliant as always! :)

Wow I didn't know you could do that. Great thread

Well done! Did you take any pics?

I used to have to do this to my toe nail. (Its fixed now - after taking medicine for ages!) I had a little bit of nail growing up that I used to attach the new acrylic to.
