Flat zone 1, when sculpting??

Hi can any of you help me? I am currently practising and practising my sculptured nails, and was getting the hang of it,,however I now fing my zone 1 always ends up flat, no 'C' curve and seems too thin,,this is how I am doing it.

I apply a cnd perfomance form,,,(after prep) I then take a medium /small bead and make myself a tip,, I then take another bead of white and sculpt my tip and smile line, I just cant get it to arch, or curve,,, I then do my zone 2 and 3 as normal, although because my zone 1 is flat and seems thin I am finding that my zone 2 wont butt up properley it looks diffrent height (iygwim) I have tried undercompensating and using a smaller bead for zone 2, yet find it hard to get an apex atall...and my whole nail looks FLAT,,,

Ohhh please help.. I am getting myself into a right tizz,,,,thanks

sounds like you might be getting the form on at the wrong angle.
it should follow the line of the sidewalls, sounds as if maybe you are tilting it up slightly.

Im having exactly the same problem with zone one. It's driving me CRACKERS lol. Im seeing Katie tommorrow for 121 so I will ask her what we are doing wrong & then i'll share with you

I leave the from on the backing sheet, then roll the whole thing tightly around the handle of my brush so that it creates a c-curve. I actually do this with a few at a time and leave them around the handle (or a pen/pencil will do) wth an elastic band, the performance ones keep the curve for ages afterwards as they are coated with teflon. hth.

I always usually roll the form before hand to pukk it up a bit, but just tried rolling it around my brush and that has helped although I do think I have been applying it wrong, I think I need to look at which way the natural nail grows,I have not been getting it flush with side walls or nail bed. I have just done my index finger on my right hand (which is really my bitten nail so uneven side walls) and was much easier and more curved although, it still was a bit thin in the middle of zone 1?? should it be slightly thicker then sides,, I just feel my zone 1s are really too thin,,althoughit mught be because i am used to thick enhancements iygwim.........
