I have finally decided to get the lighest couch I can afford, as from reading various threads it seems that over time problems can occur from carrying heavy ones.
Although I am torn between the 10kg (the lightest portable I can find) with no flip-back, or 12kg with flip-back for an extra £20.
Is the flip-back actually necessary and what is it really used for?
I will be using it for waxing and eyelash extensions.
Thanks

Anybody have any views on this?

I think I've been looking at the same one's as you.

I will be doing eyelashes too. Later I'll be doing threading pedicure & hollywood toes so I'm going to get the flip back.

Thanks tweezerhappy.
But what is the flip-back actually used for, as im thinking for waxing and eyelash extensions will the flip-back really be if any use to me?

Is it not just so the client can sit up sometimes and not lying flat all the time???

Like, if I have a client for pedicure or Hollywood toes I'll have them sitting up on the couch. Also when I start threading I'll have the back up and the client sitting up.

If you don't currently offer any treatments where it would benefit the client to sit up then get the flat couch, but think about your future needs too. Do you think you'll do other training later where you would need the client sitting up?

Thanks for that.
Im just gonna stick to the flat for now, if I add more treatments later, I can always sell the one I get and then buy the flip-back one.

It's also handy for pregnant clients who can't be completely flat on their backs. I use it at the end of massages so clients can sit up and have a drink before they stand and also for brow shapes. Some clients also want it up during pedicures so they can read a magasine.

I was thinking that too but TBH sounds like more hassle than it's worth.

I regularly do Hollywood toes for one of my friends and she loves to watch what I do. If I showed up with a flat couch she'd be well P'd off. Lol

I have a flip back one to.I find it great for my facials as med been small i can higher it up to prevent me from bending down to much.

I agree for facial and pedicures it would be good, but I wont be adding these to my services-not in the near future anyway, so I think the flat one is best for me for now, plus its a whole 2kg lighter!

Im in the position as you but im doing to be offering more treatments so i need it sitting up esp for threading. I do find a few clinets hate lying down for long esp elderly and pregnant woman im going for the 12kg i cant seem to find any lighter ones that flip.....

I had a long think about this today and have changed my mind.
I am going to get the flip-back one, as I know as soon as I get the flat one ill wish I had of got the flip-back one.
Thanks all

Forgive me for being a bit slow but how do you use the couch for pedi's when the client has to soak feet? X

I dont do pedicures, but I assume you would soak the feet first, then they would sit up on the couch and you would paint their nails.

I haven't started yet but I think some geeks put the pedi bowl on the couch or get the client to move onto the couch after soak for massage and paint.
