Hi Guys

I have recently trained in gel nails - I have only done a few practices on friends but have found that the overlay isn't lasting more than a few ays before chipping and the overlay lifting.
I am making sure that no gel is on the cuticle or surrounding nail but with not much improvement.
I am trying a new primer to gain stronger adhesive but wondered if anyone has any further advice?

Thanks:lol:

Hi, it would help others to help you if you filled out your profile page, that way we can see where you were triained and with what product.
Then others that have used the same product can then help you. :)

Hi there could be so many reasons but until we know which products you trained with and use there isn't really much we can say that would be helpful.

sorry to but in on this thread but i am fairly new to this site. how do you fill out your profile page saying what we have been trained in and what products we use?
thanks
natalie

if you go into your profile and click on the about" me tab", at the end of each subtitle theres a little pencil, click on that and you can pop in your details x

I am a fairly new nail tech also. My overlays were lifting too, and I realized that my first few sets, I was capping off the free edge but then filing it during shaping. I am not sure where yours are lifting at, but if it is at the free edge, make sure to shape before capping off the edge and do not shape it after it is cured. Of course it is probably common sense, but when I first started doing them I had so much racing in my head and I learned this the hard way:)
