Hello, I have just started doing gel nails. I have tried a few different makes, at present im using ASP. This seems to be the best so far, i am not a technician or anything i just enjoy doing them and loads of my friends love having them done. i have watched hundreds on dvds and practised on loads of people. Although they dont last longer than about 9 days? they start to peel at the cuticle then they peel off leaving the white extension only?

where am i going wrong? can you help?

thanks

quote....' i am not a technician or anything' un-quote..........voila:green: there could be your answer!

Direct your interest, drive and passion...and seek out some good training & products and you cant go too far wrong:hug:

Yeh if you have the passion for nails why not do a cource in nail technology! You could become a fully qualified tech! Why not check out your local colleges for evening classes in nail technology. Think of the possibilities!! Why not do some research on the internet, if you have any questions about any cources you find pop a post up on the forums and we will all be happy to help you find the right path xxxx good luck xxxx:hug:

Sweets! All the money you are going to waste on that crap product could get you in to school! And TRUST ME! ASP is NOT good! Its like using a Home perm you bought at The Food Store!

NOT TO WORRY! Take it all back to Sally's and tell them it is rubbish! They will give you your $ back or in store credit. Just buy some nail polish and play till you go to school ;). You will not get much help here until you are in school or done with it. BUT do read all you can on here! Read up on what classes you should take and what a GOOD class is like! DON'T go for a one day course etc! Learn from the best to be the best ;)

I cant afford to pay for the courses - im just trying to learn somthing new thought this website would help but your all up your own *rses!!

I asked a simple question for a hand and i get nothing but mongo's replying!

chirrow!

Thank you so much for the respect you've shown to trained salon professionals!

You will not receive advice on your gel application because you're not trained, you have been given advice and help re getting yourself trained. You won't be able to get insurance due to not being trained, I just hope for your sake that you stop 'playing' and save for a course before you damage someone's nails and end up being sued! That will cost you a lot more than any nail tech course!
