what is the best way to attach gems to acrylic and do you put a layer of acrylic over or just uv top coat x

I normally just apply a dot of glue to the nail using a tooth pick and then attach the gem.
If you apply acrylic or gel top coat over the gem it can sometimes dull
the gem.
so I tend to stick the gems on last so as they keep their shine.

I attach them as above on L&P but on gels I put a tiny dab of top coat and place the gem in that, cure, then apply a full coat of top coat working around the stone rather than over it. HTH

I was going to ask the same thing as i have lost 4 in 24hrs by applying a dab of TC sticking it in that then putting TC on over the top. Does gluing work better?

I always use a dot of fiberglass resin, havent fallen off yet!! x
