put them on comission...that should do the trick

Most product companies can arrange sales training for your staff. Very worthwhile.

Implementing Your Retail Roadmap, a course held at the IDI is excellent and should inspire them!

as a bit of an ametuer seller, this is something we are working on in the salon.

I have introduced incentives etc...it just ain't sticking.

Phoning the rep tomorrow so will ask him if he can do some kind of training with them... :D

Thanks for advice

Hi there

I have staff members that a great at selling and others not so great.

I motivate them with incentives, all my staff get a product back scheme rather than money, which has a knock back effect as they are trying salon products themselves which helps enormously.

Run regular appraisals and set achievable targets.

Get your staff excited about the products they are retailing, their enthusiasm will rub off on their clients.

Make sure your staff believe in what they are selling!

Get them to just talk to the client about what they are using and why and how it can benefit them at home. Then when they are finished say would you like to take any of those products home with you today?

A retailing course is very helpful as you will learn about open ended questions, closed questions and also the importance of display and pop displays.

A great opener in my salon is would you like any haircare/skincare/nail care advice today? Do you have any worries or are finding it difficult to manage your h/s/n ????

I totally agree with this,I found using the Darphin and other products made me feel very confident in my selling technique. If you know the products and like them then it's far easier to sell.

Its all too easy to feel out of your depth if trying to sell something that you know little about.Let your staff have samples of everything you sell if possible and plenty of training.
