Hi, what's the best way to apply glitter with shellac? And what glitter is best to use with shellac too?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you :)

Hello. I use a nail art brush to apply my glitter. I've found ultra fine glitter works the best for me. I apply the glitter on top of my colour coat, get it as smooth as I can, remove excess glitter and topcoat X2 for a smooth finish.

I just want to add that the Irresistible Glitter available from S2 is fantastic.

I use irresistible glitter, and cosmetic glitters, and glitters off ebay (which aren't as good as the irresistible ones tbh)

I either do the same as melissab, sometimes though I substitute a coat of zillionaire in place of 1 top coat.

Hi, I sprinkle the glitter all over final colour coat and literally rub it into the shellac with a nail gel brush. I have found I can do this quite firmly, then brush sidewalks and check for excess bits in cuticle area. Always go over the edge with the brush too and press it in to avoid tempting 'picker' areas! Then topcoat twice. I found a craft shop on eBay that sell ultra fine 0.08 glitter. It's amazing and you can't feel it on the nails. I also sometimes mix a blob of moonlight and roses with a bit of glitter if I want it in one area. Hope that helps xx

Base, x2 colour, pat fine glitter into inhibition layer and burnish "rub" it in with a flat gel brush. Add a coat of clearly pink and top coat. I used to use 2 top coats but removal took longer doing this. Clearly pink or zillionaire before the top coat seals the glitter without getting glitter in your top coat bottle x

Fingernailfixer has a fab tutorial on Rockstars on YouTube. Its worth a watch.

I normally do bas coat. 1 colour coat sprinkle glitter onto uncured layer of shellac. gently pat, cure then top coat twice. Bit messy that way though so lately I have been sprinkling my glitter onto cured layer of shellac, after applying two coats, brush excess off then top coat twice. Still gives a fab result. To get a foil effect with glitter I scrub it into the last cured layer of shellac then topcoat x2. Hth:)

I use Clearly pink and one layer of topcoat too rather than two layers of topcoat, I find it removes more easily that way as well. If I've carved a pattern I do the same thing to get the finish perfectly smooth.
