I had my back and chest waxed over the weekend, i was very hairy and i've got sensitive skin, so I wasn't surprised when i came out in red spots.
My problem is, that only a couple of days later I have hairs growing back all over, they are short and dark. My back was waxed on Friday and the hairs were already growing by Sunday so now i've got the itchiness of these growing through.

I'm assuming this isn't normal.

Any idea what the reason for this could be? is my hair just to brittle to be waxed?

Cheers

Unfortunatly this can happen, your hair grows at different rates so when you were waxed you'll have had some hair folicles being active but the hair will not broken the surface at that time.

I take it this is your 1st wax?? I have ladies who if they have their legs wax for the 1st time can get hair growing after 1st week, the more you keep up with waxing the less you hair will come back as thick, did your therapist go through any of this with you if it was your 1st time?

Hi hairy bloke and welcome to the site:hug:. What you are experiencing is very normal for a first time waxing. It can take up to four waxing treatments before all your hair growth catches up with each other. What i mean by this is , that when u were waxed you had new hair just coming through the surface of the skin and new hairs growing and developing in the folicle. By having regular appointments every four to six weeks max you will soon see the results you expected from your first time of waxing.
In regards to the spots this is also very normal, use pumise gloves and a wwash every day and if you can get hold of a product , i forget what it is called this minute, but if u pm collin on here he will be able to send you some
Hope that helps hun

You don't need to buy anything special. I specialise in mens waxing and I suggest that you just get some Clearasil face wash(or any other brand) and use it on your back. The break outs should only happen a couple of times.

The re-growth so soon could be new hair growing through or because the hair was broken during waxing. xx

I wouldn't be surprised at seeing spots/bumps on your skin especially after a first wax - tough, male hairs that have never been waxed before will cause more of a reaction when pulled out then the finer hairs you should have after several waxing treatments.

My advice would be to stick at it, at least for a few more treatments; hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised when your hairs grow back sparser and finer.

And this is coming from someone who was in your position once too, and have had regular waxings for nearly 4 years and am finding the regrowth much sparser and finer now...
