Oh dear, I need some help. I had my upper lip and eyebrows waxed yesterday and my eyebrows are perfect this morning but my top lip is covered in raised bump/spots. This was the first time I had the top lip done. Thing is I have booked in for a spray tan tomorrow and I am wondering if the tan will grab on to my reaction.

The skin does not appear to be broken on my top lip but it is quite tender and numb. I am just presuming that my skin either didnt like the waxing process or didnt like the tea tree moisturiser I applied to it.

do you think I should still go ahead with the spray tan?

Thanks in advance for your replies

me personaly wont tan after a wax unless 24hrs after... what you have told me tho. i would not spratan your face... infection may occur, not nice for you and not nice for me.... was the wax very hot. it may have burnt it  hope it gets better x

This exact same problem arises with me! I dont have my top lip done now as a result. I would avoid your spray tan until the bumps disappear.

Hi there, no the wax wasnt too hot, I dont blame the therapist at all. My skin is really funny with moisturisers I always end up blotchy and spotty after using so tend not to moisturise my face. I went back to the therapist who said I should keep it dry, which I agree with. I am not getting the spray tan done until tomorrow morning which will be nearly 2 days after my waxing but we will see what my lip is like. We have both come to the conclusion that the reaction is to do with a mixutre of the tea tree and the fact I have sensitive skin. It would happen when I have a wedding to go to!.

I will still go ahead with the spray tan but I might not get my face tanned, or just put some couch roll over the affected area and just cover in with make up on Saturday.

On a positive note, I have booked my tan training for week after next so looking forward to that.

Anyone from Middlesborough fancy a free spray tan on 26th?

I think this is a reaction to having your upper lip waxed for the first time as this can often happen. I advise people to use an anti-histamine cream or take it in tablet form to calm down the area. I would'nt use spray tan on the face until this reaction has disappeared, as spray tan blocks the pores and can cause spots and blackheads.
