Hi Geeks,

I have a lady booked in next week for individual false lashes, and I'm a bit worried! Not done these since college I don't think (I left about 8 years ago!), and I need a little reminder...! I'm talking about the old-school lashes, little clusters of lashes that look like spiders, not the lash extensions that are popular at the moment...

Client lies down....do you tell them to keep their eyes open but looking down, or do they close their eyes completely?

Do you protect the bottom lashes with anything? I have vague recollections of a cotton pad or something, but not sure if I'm remembering it or not!

I know you dip the "blobby" end in the glue and slide inbetween the client's own lashes, that's not a problem...

If doing makeup in the same appointment (I'm not this time, but for future!), do you do the lashes first, and then the makeup? Or the other way around?!

Sorry so many questions, but I'd be very grateful for your help!! XX

Ps...I do have my friend coming over this weekend to guniea pig for me so i can practise first!!

Hi

I get the client to keep eyes open but look downwards, as when the eyes are completely closed, sometimes the glue sticks the top and bottom lashes together.

If doing make up on the same appointment, I do the lashes first then the clients make up, that way if they want mascara over the lashes, it gives the glue time to dry whilst doing the other parts of the make up, if that makes sense.

Hope that helps x

Thanks for the advice, I did practise on my friend last night and I've not forgotten at all :) I'm such a worrier. It was fine, got her to keep her eyes slightly open & applied them with no problems at all. Just waiting to hear how many lasted the night!!

I am sure there is a fantastic tutorial on the technique by Katelisa (I think) on this site . . . have a look and see.
