Hey

I really dont like feet or people touching mine but they are not very nice at the moment. I was going to go to a salon and have a pedicure but I'm a bit embarrased about the state of them tbh. I think its because I dont really look after them and I don't wear socks or shoes a lot of the time when I am at home. They have really hard dry skin on the heal and on the ball of the foot.

Is there anything I can do to sort them out a bit, I go on holiday tomorrow and I really don't want them to be so horrible. Then if they arent so bad I can get them sorted in a salon.

Also if I paint my toe nails a diff colour to my finger nails will it look odd.

Its so obvious I'm not a fan of feet isn't it lol

Thanks in advance for your help x

Before I did my course I hated feet too. I love them ow, it's one of my best treatments to do. This is going to sound weird but I don't get any pleasure out of doing pedicures on those clients that don't have any hard skin and basically have pretty perfect feet. The more hard skin and overgrown cuticles the better!! I just love fixing them!
Honestly hun, it will be nothing a therapist hasn't seen before. Not everyone comes to us with perfect, smooth feet. Get yourself to the salon.
I always paint my toes different to my hands as I get bored of looking at the same colour xxx

Ohhh I'm glad I'm not the only one, some people think I'm weird but pedicures are my favorite treatments to do.
It's great making some one's feet look and feel good.
Get yourself down to a salon and get your feet pampered, they will appreciate it and will look and feel great afterwards. Different colours on toes is a must if you ask me, nice to ring the changes.
Enjoy your hols.xxx

noo course your toe and finger nails dont have to match.

heck ive got dried up flakey manky finger nails and lovely french with pink n purple flicks n rhinestns on my toes.

They won't think of it in a salon.
1.It's their job
2. your going their to get something done about it.
I'm terrible with stuff like this but honestly i could touch anyone's feet!!

Right then thanks everyone I think that i will file my toe nails and paint them so that they look nice because they are only horrible under them and then when I come back of holiday I will go and get them sorted. Im glad you all said that I dont have to match because I'm never sure and I've got orange on my fingernails with fruits so I could never of made them match. Im thinking french on my toes although my little toe nails are tiny. We'll see. xx

Always use a base coat under your varnish, especially colours like red,as this will stop staining and will be much easier to remove.
My lil toe is almost non existent but I still manage to get a little white on there xxx

youd be surprised how many feet haters love having a pedicure

i wouldnt worry about them being "horrible" which im sure their not that bad, if you go for one. perhaps give them a good scrub up before hand and also weve seen feet much much worse...

... just like my beautician says when im not keen to get on the couch due to letting things slip a little, although it is still embarrasing, its what we are here to do and what your paying for

hope this helps a little:hug:

One thing you can do at home to maintain a good pedicure or to tidy up your feet now is to buy a Ped-Egg.

They are a fantastic way to remove dry skin from around the heels and on the sides of the feet. You will feel like you are walking on air after you have used one.

I used to always use a pumice stone in the bath to remove dead skin, but the ped-egg you use on dry feet and it is simple and clean to use. I swear by it for home use.

Sorry .. they have been advertised allot in the UK!! I forgot.

The ped-egg is, as you might expect :) an egg shaped foot rasp which is in two pieces. When you have used it, all the dried skin shavings that have been removed are captured inside the egg so A. you can have the satisfaction of seeing how much you have removed and B. it is clean and easy to empty. Kind of like the Dyson (vacuum -cleaner) it is so satisfying to see all the dirt and stuff you've vacuumed up ... you know you've done a good job.

The ped-egg only takes off tiny shavings and it is hard to go 'too far' with it and make your feet sore (though some have I'm sure). It works on the same principal as a cheese grater!

No I do not sell them .. no I am not touting for business. You can get them here in Spain for 2€ on the market.

Ive seen it avertised its like a little egg shape thing with like a foot file on it n it collects all your filings in it so you can empty them when your finnished. x

How cool :) thanks for that Geeg, and laura16:hug:

We can get them down here in Kmart. Ridiculously expensive but they are available.

I had one in the US...loved it.
