Hello,

I have been waxing for just over a year but only covered warm wax in my training. I am interested in trying hot wax - do I need to do a training course for this? I have done an initial search for hot wax training but nothing seems available so far.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,

Siana

Yes you do need training hun, try this amazing lady, Kim Lawless
Braziliauk
kim is also a member on this forum so if you do a search you will see that lots of us have trained with kim,
kim will train you in any areas that you want to wax hth

Thanks for the reply - this looks very promising - I'm off to check where she is based as I am in Dorset - could be a bit of travelling involved.

Cheers

Siana

Honestly the travel will be worth every mile

If you're an experienced waxer, you can try hot wax out without training and see how you get on. Different brands are applied in different ways and some are easy and some are the old fashioned way of applying in a figure of eight etc.......avoid those if you can as hot wax has come a long way since then.

You would only really use hot wax for Intimate and sensitive areas as strip wax is still the way to go for general body waxing.

So, just to clarify:- You don't need training just to use it but I would highly recommend training to use it on the areas mantioned above or you could find yourself in a right old mess.

PM me if you need any help. xxx

spot on advice there kim!!!

Kim, u are so right. If u have trained in waxing then u do not need to take a seperate course in hot wax. The application and removale is slightly different, but if u are confident in your waxing skills then i think u will be fine hun. Unless u would like to learn intamate waxing then i would recommend a training course, as it a wee more difficult than your straight forward bikini line . love jennyx

Thanks all for your replies. I was thinking of of trying hot wax for facial, bikini and underarms as I gather from reading on here it's better than a warm wax for these areas. So... if I tried say PR on these areas, are we talking the same technique as warm wax - on with the hair growth and off against?

I'm still interested in more training though as I've always been in a bit of a tizz where eyebrows and bikini's are concerned and I've had quite a few requests for more intimate waxing recently and I've had to turn people away. I'd love to be 100% confident with my waxing and I think the courses that Kim is offering is possibly the way to go for me.

Thanks everyone, I'm off on my holls in the morning - back to packing!

Cheers,

Siana

This is where getting hold of a copy of the Whole Ball Of Wax would help you enormously... it will just give you the tips and confidence to do the areas that you are comfortable with but using a different wax. And it will also show you intimate waxing and by watching this, this may show you that it is something that you would like to do in the future... this is what happened to me when I first watched it.

If you are considering intimate waxing then going on a specialist training course would be the safest route to successful intimate waxing :)

Hi Jen, Is the Whole Ball of Wax a book or a dvd and who is the author? I'll do some searching and see what I can find. Thanks for the recommendation.

Sorry - just found the details by clicking on your link. This looks good - are they freely available in the uk?

I have pm'd you the details flower as this DVD has had lots of discussion before.

If you type in Whole Ball of Wax into the search engine you will however find more info on the DVD there too :)
