How did you all decide on your business name?

Morning geeks.

Sadly I'm laid up on the settee today after passing out on the stairs and hitting my jaw causing some nasty swelling and bruising 😔
Anyway, im already well on the way to passing my nail tech course, mani module completed, OPI GelColor training booked, shellac intro kit purchased from cnd and shellac training soon to be booked 😊
Trying to be constructive whilst I can do little else and come up with a classy yet catchy name for my business and didn't realise how hard it would be lol
How did you guys all come up with your names?

Well I am called "Nails by Sinead", I know it sounds boring and unimaginative compared to some of these other names! But I thought it was best for marketing. In it, it clearly states who i am and what i do, It gets my name out there so people can recognise that it is what I'm doing. For example on some nights out i will say "Hi I'm Sinead" and some people will see my nails and then say "OH you're the girl who does the nails arent you?!" So on nights out i manage to get bookings! Good luck with whatever name you do decide

I choose it because I wanted to incorporate my name. (Rita)

And I wanted it to look funky so I choose Ritzy with Nailz, spelt with a z at the end.

I'm still totally struggling to come up with a name for the business.
I want a nice balance between catchy and memorable, but classy without being a bit done or cliche'd 😁
Who'd have thought it would be this hard deciding lol
Up to now I like Polly's Nails & Beauty (but my sis says its too parrot like ) lol, Glamour & Glitz by Paula and Sparkles Nails & Beauty or maybe even Shine Nails & Beauty but I'm not sure I'm entirely sold on any of them eeeeek

Hiya!

I am "A Mermaid's Secret".

Originally I wanted to be something along the lines of "Inside out" Or "Top to Toe" to symbolise the holistic and full body treatment that I specialise in. But then on a holiday with friends, I did a Mermaid impression in the swimming pool and my nickname Mermaid stuck (and still has!) Then I told another friend I wanted a name to represent Me, who came up with "Mermaid's Secret" to play on the name "Beauty Secrets". Having instantly fallen in love with the name I kept it as it was completely unique (I think).
Plus i'm near the sea, so a lot of people think its because of that.

Then as a Tag line, I have "Bringing out your inner beauty" to explain what I do.

The best part of the name, which I wasn't expecting, is that a lot of the new clients like to ask where I got the name from which a great conversation starter.
Good luck with the name!!! I remember trying to brain storm years back!!

I have been looking for a business name for a couple of months, looked on the Net asked friends even looked in the yellow pages for something. I was about to give up & it just hit me.
My other half was sat at the computer trolling names & i just went up to him & said BOOM! & we both looked @ each other & said wow that is our name. So thats where Boom Hair Design came from :biggrin:

I personally think the branding and the "use" of the name is more important than the name itself.

I'm Belle Vie Beauty, currently being rebranded as Belle Vie Nails. I chose Belle Vie Beauty after months of struggling to come up with anything original. I made it 'beauty' rather than nails as I had thought that I'd want to add other services but I just love nails so much that I'm really not that interested in doing anything else, I can always add 'and beauty' at a later date if I want to branch out into other things.

It has always been my dream to run my own business and to have a family, Belle Vie represents my beautiful life being able to have both! Cheesy or what?! :Love:

Mine is Bootylicious Beauty

My husband came up with mine. He said he thinks I'm bootylicious, I added beauty as I want to add to my treatment list. At present nails and tanning by June I will hopefully be able to add massage, Indian head massage and hot stone massage . xx

Mine is not that interesting but since august 2012 I've been obsessed with all things nails and i kept telling everyone "I bloody obsessed with my nails" take away the bloody and I choose Obsession Nails MK

(God the 80's was so random LOL)

(MK stands for Milton Keynes quite a few business here add MK to the end of their name, plus I thought it may help in the search enginge stakes)
