Im currently changing career and have just finished sp eyelash extensions and a make up course and will be mobile, i was just wondering how long it took people to build up a client base?
I've been using friends as case studys and hoping i will get some business from there friends when they see there lashes and have set up a Facebook page.
I will also be training in nails hopefully early next year - just trying to decide what systems to specialise in.
Any advise would be much appreciated x

It depends on many factors Emma. My marketing skills make it pretty easy for me to get new customers and my customer service skills and standard of treatments mean that these new customers turn into regular clients. Regular clients recommend me to numerous people who turn into regular clients.

It can take a few years to build a solid client base but after a couple of weeks-months you should notice you have a few regulars and get feedback of people recommending you. If not you should investigate why people are not returning and change your strategy.

Hey Hun, I use Facebook a lot! I also ran a comp offering a free service to one client picked at random from a hat just for making a status recommending they heck out my page. It's taken me a few months to build up (I moved to NI from Scotland) and I now take about £300 a week. Word of mouth and friends recommending me is the main help. :) xx

Also I feel being mobile secures more clients as lots say to me how good this is for them x

It takes two years to build a business, and five to build a name.
The more diverse an offering the more clients you will have, too. If you offer only one or two treatments you can specialise but it takes much longer to build a solid base, and your opportunities for cross selling are much reduced.

Thanks guys for your advise x
