Hi
i have just started spray tanning and was wondering how many spray tans you get out of a litre of solution, i seem to only be getting about 12 but was expecting 20, i use sienna x if thats relevent

thanks
sam

I use couture and get around 25-30 tans out of the litre bottle
x

OMG 25-30!!!!! wat can i do to get anywhere near that? my clients arnt oversprayed, and i tip back into the bottle what i dont use.

If your not over spraying them to be honest im not sure why you cant get more out of them.

12 doesnt seem allot at all! A few months back i done 12 in two days and had allot of lotion left.

Are sienna filling up their bottles to the rim, and is it 1l you buy?

yeah def 1 litre and the bottles are full cos they are see through, u got me thinking know what could i be doing wrong...............

Hmm, On your machine the dial where you can reduce the flow or have it up high perhaps you could try turning it down to stop the overspray coming out?

ive actually just ordered an extractor to go in the back of my tent cos theres so much overspray, thought that because there isnt any drips on my client that i had the gun at just the right level but maybe thats whats wrong, will try that tomorrow, thanks for that.

Your welcome! It does sound like its turnt up too much so once you turn it down hopefully you will get more sprays as 12 just isnt enough
x

It's quite normal when you first start to only be getting 10-15 tans out of a bottle. I get between 20-22 but probably got about 10-15 to start with.
You need to turn your gun down.
Before spraying someone spray onto some couch roll first.
Turn your gun right down and spray onto the roll as you turn the dial back up.
Your solution should not come through to the other side of the couch roll. If it is then your gun is too high

thanks for your comments, when i first got my spray gun i tried that but as it blows out air at the same time it was blowing the couch roll away lol even when i taped it too my tent, but will try that again, got a quiet day tomorrow so will get it sorted , hope i havnt wasted £400 on an extractor fan (if all i had to do was turn down my gun to eliminate the overspray lol) although from reading past posts on here its the best thing to have.

With regard to spraying on couch roll, if you spray it while it is still on the roll it is much easier - so hold the whole roll in front of you vertically (making sure you are holding the paper on the roll so it doesn't flap about) and spray down it as though you were spraying a client's back or something. Don't let the paper dangle down, make sure it is still rolled up. Or spray horizontally if that is how you do it, whatever works for you but spraying on couch roll whilst still on the roll is the way forward imo!

Hope you can understand what I mean - if not perhaps someone else will be able to explain it better! Lx

thanks for your tip Lucy, I should of thought of that lol

I'm using Sienna. To be honest it just depends on how large your clients are, without being rude!
I get around 15 -20 tans out of one bottle and most of my clients are of the larger size.

Try turning your gun down chick, you are probably wasting loads on over spray xxx

yep will try all your suggestions tomorrow, thanks to you all

sam xx

No worries, I hijacked it from someone else anyway! Can't remember who now but it is a very good tip! I was delighted when I first tried it. Do it all the tome now and tell everyone I know! Lol Lx

Also when you get a bit more confident you will get used to letting go of the gun trigger inbetween spraying.
When you first start you tend to pull the trigger and keep it pulled.
