How Much To Charge When Training???

There are a few posts on here about it being illegal to charge people when you are still training. I looked into this and the only thing I can find is that you need to make sure you have adequate insurance. I know BABTAC do an insurance for people who are training so that they can still do clients.
 
I do my mam for free and charge £10 for others.

In case it helps...

1. It's not illegal for you to charge when you're training, so long as you declare income to the Inland Revenue. That might mean you're classed as self-employed - so remember to keep receipts for stuff you buy! (Actually, HMG is not too bothered by the odd £10 or £20.)

2. Check your insurance. Some policies prevent you from charging when a student; ours doesn't, although (a) it has to be a case study and (b) you do have to state to your client that you're a student.
