Junior needs to know for college report. Don't know if anyone can help - it's been a while since I trained! Just don't want to give her the wrong advice.

How would you alter facial massage for mature skins?

Thanks guys!

ooh, i should know this as i had to learn it for my exams last month!
Use gentle upward effleurage movements - and lighten the pettrissage i think. I can double check my notes when i get home!! (how atrocious that i can't be definate in my answer!)

Avoid tapotement on any thread veins, avoid dragging the skin, not too deep massage.HTH

i would ensure there was plenty of massage medium, avoid any dragging movements, include plenty of upwards sweeping on the neck, and as babs said, avoid tapotement on vascular areas and not too deep petrissage.:)

If you are mixing your own mask - you could possibly mix with oil instead of usual rosewater/whitchazel so the mix glides on rather than drags! Don't know if I've explained that correctly ..hope so...
