Hello

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to train myself and my business partner in eyebrow and eyelash tinting?

I live in north wales and am struggling to find anyone who does it. there is one place in chester but they are requiring that i am a beauty professional for at least six months and I am not as am in the middle of all my training and expect to be finished by dec16th. I am prepared to travel to you up to chester liverpool area and am also happy to wait until the new year as i know now is a busy time for many people.

I hope this is the right forum to post this.

Would your current trainer not incorporate it? It is very easy to be trained in both these procedures.

they dont do it unfortunately and my other training provider is insisting that i have 6 months experience. I was just wondering if there was anyone here or in liverpool or chester area that would like to train me instead.

My therapist in Shrewsbury does eyelash tinting, but am not sure if she has a training qualification; I guess you'd want it to be a certified trainer in order to get insurance cover and whatnot?

This is the problem you will have exactly. It's all very well being shown how to do something but that will not qualify and insure you to perform that treatment on the paying public. You must approach a certified trainer for thi, not other therapists.

I thought that would be the case. I'm guessing that eyelash tinting in isolation isn't something that a local college would be likely to do either - they'd most likely want you to do an entire NVQ...

Well yes, I learnt it as part of my NVQ2 but I think there are smaller, independent colleges and training establishments that will offer a course on eye treatments. But really, would you want someone who wasn't qualified to be playing around your eyes with a chemical?

Exactly, and potentially dangerous chemicals at that! Hydrogen peroxide and dyes e.g. para-phenylenediamine (albeit in lower concentrations than hair dyes)! Good to know there are establishments that will offer courses on this in isolation then :)

I was hoping someone here would be a trainer as well as a therapist, sorry if i did not make that clear in my original posting. I wouldnt ever do any treatment on anyone unless i was properly trained to do it.

Thank you for your help, our local college does not do it isolation, and I am struggling to find anyone near us that does it. it looks like it will be a six month wait .... bummer and i already had 6 potential customers for it, its always the way isnt it?.
